The Fordham men’s basketball team will be hosting Rhode Island at the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Rams are coming off a strong performance, winning two of their last three games. Seniors Japhet Medor and Jackie Johnson III have been leading the team in scoring, with Medor averaging 17.6 points over his last eight games and Johnson reaching double figures in 21 of his 22 appearances with Fordham.
Rhode Island, with a record of 15-6, will present a tough challenge for Fordham. Senior guard Sebastian Thomas leads Rhode Island in scoring, assists, and steals, while senior forward David Green and classmate Jaden House also contribute to the team’s offense. Rhode Island has the A-10’s top scoring offense overall but is averaging fewer points in conference play.
The two teams have a long history, with Rhode Island leading the series 42-32. However, Fordham has won three of their last five matchups with Rhode Island.
The game will also celebrate the start of Black History Month, with the first 400 students in attendance receiving a complimentary Black History Month hat. The game will be televised on SNY and ESPN+ with radio coverage on 90.7 FM WFUV. Fans can expect an exciting matchup between these two competitive teams as they battle it out on the court.
