Detroit City Football Club is gearing up for an Eastern Conference battle against Rhode Island FC this Saturday at Keyworth Stadium. DCFC is coming off a 3-1 victory in the US Open Cup against Westchester SC, with goals from Morey Doner, Jeciel Cedeño, and Darren Smith.
Speaking of Smith, he was named the USL Championship Player of the Week for match week six after a standout performance in the last game. Rhode Island FC, on the other hand, secured their first league victory of the season by defeating Oakland Roots SC 3-0.
