It will be the first World Series appearance for Shohei Ohtani, who made history this season by hitting 50 home runs and stealing 50 bases. The Mets, who have the highest payroll in MLB, have not made the World Series since 2015. The Dodgers will face the New York Yankees in the World Series, marking their MLB record 12th matchup in the Fall Classic. The Yankees have won eight of the previous 11 meetings. The World Series is set to begin on Friday.
