The UConn men’s basketball team is set to kick off its 2024-25 campaign with a special charity exhibition game against the Rhode Island Rams on Monday night. This event, titled the Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Game benefitting Coaches vs. Cancer, will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena at 6:00 p.m. This marks UConn’s first charity exhibition game since 2017 and is a rare public exhibition during head coach Dan Hurley’s tenure. The game will be televised on NBC Sports Boston and UConn+ with a live stream available on Fubo.
The game will feature a reunion for Hurley with his former team and promises to be an exciting match-up. Following this exhibition, both teams will continue with their regular season schedules. UConn’s first five games will include matchups against Sacred Heart, New Hampshire, Le Moyne, Texas A&M-Commerce, and Memphis. On the other hand, Rhode Island’s first five games will see them facing Fairfield, Holy Cross, Franklin Pierce, Lafayette, and the College of Charleston.
Fans are eagerly looking forward to the start of the new season and this charity exhibition game is the perfect way to kick things off. With the added element of supporting a great cause like Coaches vs. Cancer, it promises to be a meaningful and exciting event for both teams and their fans.
