Stabbing Incident at Providence Club Leaves Three Injured
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A violent incident occurred early Saturday morning at the "Lovera VIP" club located on Broad Street, leading to the stabbing of three individuals. Providence Police responded to reports of the attack at 1:43 a.m. Upon arrival at the club, officers discovered that the victims included a 27-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest, a 28-year-old man who sustained a stab wound to the shoulder, and a 33-year-old man with an injury to his arm.
According to Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez, the primary suspect, aged 33, had escaped the scene prior to police arrival. However, he later sought medical treatment at Rhode Island Hospital, where he was identified as the assailant.
In light of the incident, the Providence Board of Licenses convened an emergency hearing on Saturday morning to determine the future of the Lovera VIP club’s operations. The hearing, scheduled for 10 a.m., aims to address concerns surrounding public safety at the venue.
